Samgris Resources Pty Ltd ("Samgris") is a privately owned resource company focused on exploring for coal resources in Queensland. Samgris currently holds eleven Exploration Permits for Coal (EPC's) and aims to acquire more projects in the future. Samgris' longer term goal is to develop a coal mine in Queensland. Samgris' shareholders include the Shaanxi Coal Industry Company Ltd, Shaanxi Coal Geology Group Company Ltd and two privately held Australian companies. Shaanxi Coal Industry Company is the third largest coal producer in China, with its coal mining operations primarily located in the Ordos Basin, Northwest China. It is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (601225:CH) and has its headquarters in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, Shaanxi Coal Geology Group was established as a departmental level provincial state-owned institute. It is responsible for coal exploration and the technical management of the coal industry across Shaanxi Province. Shaanxi Coal Geology Group is widely recognised as one of the leading coal exploration companies in China. It is a leader in coal resource geology research and in coal mining design and innovation. The exploration and development the coalfields of the Ordos Basin, in Northwest China, over the last fifty years, has been the main achievement of the Shaanxi Coal Geology Group.
