The La Trobe International Relations Association is a student organisation that is designed to increase awareness and understanding of the world of international relations. LIRA starting afresh in 2021, creating a more interactive experience for students beyond La Trobe University's academic structure of lectures and tutorials and contributing to the development of the field from its Euro-centric beginnings into the modern, diverse era. LIRA aims to provide all students with an interest in international relations and politics with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and become more engaged in the university experience through both social and extra-curricular academic forums. LIRA also acts as a bridge between students and faculty, as well as promoting the study of International Relations to potential students. LIRA is an apolitical organisation, committed to providing balanced and unbiased information and opinions via the events we run and with which we become involved.
